GeekBox Users Forum (unofficial) is a community supported forum of individuals of all ages who are here to learn new information, solve problems, create and test new ideas, and to provide and receive help and guidance from their fellow peers. The posts are freely viewable by anyone, but submitting a post to the forum requires member registration. Users are strongly encouraged to register and participate in the forum to help build a strong and growing user community. With that in mind, we ask that all members please follow these simple rules in order to create an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable. Members are encouraged to report significant violations of these rules by clicking the "Report Post" link or by sending a PM to the staff.
General Forum Rules:
All content posted to this forum must be directly or indirectly related to the GeekBox. Other types of posts will be deleted.
The official language of this forum is English. When posting, please use proper grammar. Refrain from 'text-message' style substitutions and abbreviations. This is a multi-national forum, and some of our non-English speaking members must use translation software which is confused by abbreviations. A post that is hard to read will often be overlooked.
All information and instructions given within these forums is to be used at your own risk. Posts are made by beginners and experts alike, and may be incomplete, or contain errors. By following or using any of this information you give up the right to hold anyone liable for any damages.
If you find information in a topic that is incorrect or misleading, make a constructive post to the topic to inform other members of the situation and provide a correction.
All the forums are categorized by topics. Please post your questions or messages in the appropriate forum. If a topic is posted in a forum that is not appropriate for the question, the staff may move that topic to another better suited forum.
Answers to many of the questions you may have can be found in the other posts on the message boards. Please use the search function to find your answers before posting a new topic. If you are still having problems, feel free to submit a new topic. Duplicate posts may be moved, locked, or deleted at the staffs discretion.
Please keep all your posts as constructive as possible. Simple posts such as "Thank you" should be avoided as they present themselves as clutter and unnecessarily consume forum storage space.
Code should be submitted in a code box for easier reading.
PM stands for personal message, not private message. All PMs can be viewed by the staff. Forum rules apply equally to PMs.
All help should be provided in the forums. Do not reply to posts via PM or email. The goal here is to create a database of information accessible by all users.
The posting of any copyrighted material is strictly prohibited unless the material is licensed for royalty free public distribution, or you are the copyright holder and by posting here, grant unlimited royalty free public distribution of the material.
If any activity is obviously illegal the staff reserves the right to remove such content and/or ban the user.
Avatars must be in good taste. This means no vulgar or violent images, pornography, or profanity. Avatars that are found to be inappropriate will be removed at the discretion of the staff.
Member's display names can not be email addresses. This rule is in place to protect you from spam bots who will pick up your email address and spam you.
Members may have only one account on this forum. There is no need to have more than one.
Any impersonation of a user from these forums, in any mode of communication, is strictly prohibited and will result in a banning.
Advertisements, of any sort, are not permitted. This includes links to commercial sites in Signatures, or in posts. You also may not solicit sales for yourself or a third party.
You may not put content or links in your signature soliciting donations. Large signatures are discouraged.
Spamming is strictly prohibited.
Posts, PMs, links, and other content may be deleted for any reason the forum staff deem necessary.
